A school cannot be effective without strong leaders. This course offers participants the opportunity to explore the essential leadership skills and team processes required for the international school.

Learning Goals

Explore and practice effective strategies for:

  • Applying principles of social justice and anti-racism across all facets of leadership and team dynamics

  • Situational leadership and other prominent leadership models

  • Crisis leadership and management in the international school context

  • Effective means of staff motivation

  • Building effective, impactful teams through the school

  • Creating a decision-making model that consistently and positively impacts student learning

  • Applying the extensive knowledge base about team dynamics for all types of school teams

  • Effective communication and how it influences and shapes effective leadership

  • Leading change and improvement processes, including conflict management

  • Assessing your personal leadership strengths, growth areas and approaches

  • Applying all of the above in the hybrid and online learning environments, with consideration of the rapid development of artificial intelligence

The curriculum for all PTC courses is rooted in the ‘Standards for International School Principals’ and created using our design principles.
